Christopher Takeda, a native of Albuquerque, NM was appointed to the position of Associate Concertmaster of the Sarasota Orchestra in the 2002-03 season. Mr. Takeda joined the orchestra during the 2001-02 season as Concertmaster fulfilling a one-year position. Mr. Takeda has also performed with the Santa Fe Opera since 2005. An avid chamber musician, Mr. Takeda was a violinist in the Arcata String Quartet from 1998 to 2001.

Mr. Takeda received both his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Juilliard School.

Violinist Jennifer Best Takeda, a native of North Carolina, currently serves as the Assistant Concertmaster of the Sarasota Orchestra as well as violinist of the resident Sarasota Piano Quartet. In 2019 she won a section violin position in the Santa Fe Opera orchestra. Prior to joining the Sarasota Orchestra in 2005, Ms. Takeda served as a Concertmaster of the New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. She is an active chamber musician and has vast orchestral experience.

Ms. Takeda received a Bachelor of Music degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts and a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Takeda performs on a 1697 Giovanni Rogeri violin, generously donated to the Sarasota Orchestra by Ernest and Alisa Kretzmer.
